ORLANDO SAEZ
Vice President Airport Marketing
Orlando Saez is responsible for the market strategy and development of Boingo's operated network in top airports throughout North America. In 1997, Orlando led an ISP in the Chicago area, later acquired by Winstar Communications. After this acquisition Orlando served as Winstar's Senior Director of Data Solutions. Prior to the successful ISP merger with Winstar, Orlando was the Chief Technology Officer for West Indies and Grey Advertising in Latin America. He held several engineering and management roles at Motorola pioneering the commercialization CDMA and earlier at AT&T Bell Laboratories with 5ESS. Orlando works as a key strategic advisor to stimulate private-public partnerships and workforce development for IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich. He was appointed by Chicago's Mayor Richard M. Daley to serve on the board of the Mayors Council of Technology Advisors helping shape technology policy for the City and he is also on the Board of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center. Orlando holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, an M.S. in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from IIT Stuart Graduate School of Business.
JIM JANOWIAK
Vice President of Business Development
Mr. Janowiak is the VP of Business Development at Concourse Communications. Prior
to Concourse, Jim was the CEO and co-founder of tego Communications in October 2000.
tego Communications was a pioneer in the in-building wireless services provider
space focused on commercial office and retail venues. tego Communications merged
with Concourse Communications in June of 2003. Mr. Janowiak was also the founder
and Chief Operating Officer of qServe Communications, a provider of installation
and maintenance services to the wireless communications industry, until August of
2000. Prior to founding qServe he was the Executive Vice President of Telecommunications
for U.S. RealTel a roof-top and in-building site management organization and directed
the company’s positioning and successful launch into the telecommunications
community. In addition, Mr. Janowiak has consulted for several companies in the
tower acquisition, installation, and design where he directed them in their national
and international growth strategies. He also works with various charitable organizations
in the Chicagoland area.
MARK A. DESHAIES
Vice President, Operations
Mark joined Concourse Communications in January of 2000, shortly
after the company was founded. With over 20 years of program management, contract
administration, operations, and engineering experience in the telecommunications
and electronics industries, Mark leads a diversely-skilled team of operations directors,
program/project managers, engineers, technicians, and administrators. His
main charter is to oversee the design, installation, and operations of technology-neutral,
facilities-based cable and fiber optic telecommunications systems (e.g. WLAN and
Voice DAS). Over the past six years, Mark has managed the deployment and operation
of these RF distribution systems in JFK, LGA, EWR, DTW, MSP, OKC, BNA, and YOW airports
as well as the Lincoln and Holland tunnels and various other facilities. Currently,
Mark is overseeing new multi-service system builds and expansion projects in Chicago,
Detroit, and New York.
Prior to joining the Concourse team, Mark worked for Andrew Corporation in Richardson,
Texas as the Distributed Communications Systems Operations Manager. While there,
his responsibilities included the design, development, production, and marketing
of Andrew’s radiating cable and accessories product line. In many cases, these
products serve as the RF distribution medium for multi-service telecommunications
systems. Also at Andrew Corporation, Mark administered and managed several telecommunications
projects in both the United States and Europe. As a Senior Program Manager, Mark
was responsible for the contract administration, budgeting, design, development,
implementation, test, and acceptance of various telecommunications projects, including
the 800MHz Telecommunications Extension system for the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)
District in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Prior to his telecommunications career, Mark worked for General Electric Aerospace
and Martin Marietta Corporation in Syracuse, NY, where he held various systems and
software engineering positions before transitioning into marketing and project management.
Mark was selected to attend GE’s management training program and, subsequently,
managed several electronics upgrade projects to successful completions. Mark, as
the Engineering Project Manager, led a team of systems and software engineers to
successfully complete an $8.7M sonar system upgrade project for the U.S. Navy.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and computer science
from the State University of New York. Mark has also completed various management
courses at SMU Cox School of Business.
