CONCOURSE COMMUNICATIONS POWERS KALAMAZOO/BATTLE CREEK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (AZO) WI-FI NETWORK RE-LAUNCH
Internet Service at AZO Becomes a Launching Point for Business Travelers, Giving Them Access to 100,000+ Boingo Wireless Hotspots Worldwide
KALAMAZOO, MI, August 6, 2007 –
Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) has today re-launched its high-speed Wi-Fi network with a completely new service provided by Concourse Communications Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Boingo Wireless.
Air travelers at AZO can log in using an existing Wi-Fi Internet account from their home service provider or they can purchase Internet access from Boingo Wireless, the world’s leading hotspot network aggregator.
"This is a significant upgrade for our airport. The Concourse network provides us with an enhanced system to better serve our customers’ needs, and increased product selection to provide them with more options," said Karen Wolff, AZO marketing coordinator.
The fast, easy-to-use Wi-Fi network will benefit the 500,000 annual passengers that pass through AZO, as well as airport concessionaires. Passengers with Wi-Fi enabled laptops or PDAs can connect to the Internet to check their e-mail, access their corporate servers, download important documents and surf the Web from anywhere in the airport.
Concourse, the world’s leading operator of airport neutral-host wireless access systems, has enabled enterprise-class neutral Wi-Fi service throughout the entire airport, replacing a prior network installation. The neutral-host network is designed to enable roaming access via existing partnerships with AT&T Wi-Fi, GoRemote, iPass, T-Mobile, and Orange France.
Additionally, travelers can purchase Internet access services in the airport from Boingo Wireless for $7.95/day. For frequent travelers, Boingo offers a monthly account plan for $21.95 that provides unlimited access to thousands of hot spots in North and South America, with access to premium hot spots in Europe and Asia provided for additional fees. Boingo’s hot spot network includes more than 100,000 locations around the world, including more than 400 airports.
"Based on their learnings over the past three years, AZO had specific requirements for the network re-launch to ensure their customers received the best possible service. We were able to meet or exceed all their requirements," said Orlando Saez, Vice President of Airport Marketing for Concourse Communications Group. "Our momentum continues to grow as we set new industry benchmarks for technology and service."
