Concourse Communications Awarded Wireless Access System Contract At Ottawa International Airport

HOUSTON, TX, SEPTEMBER 21, 2004 – Concourse Communications, the leading developer of neutral-host wireless access systems for airports and other commercial venues, announced today that they had signed a contract with the Ottawa International Airport Authority for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of a Commercial Wireless Access System at the Ottawa International Airport. The network, based upon the popular 802.11b/g standard known as WiFi, is expected to be operational later this year. All public areas inside the airport will be covered along with the outside areas surrounding the ramps.

In winning the contract, Concourse partnered with BOLDstreet Wireless, an Ottawa-based Wireless Internet services company which will provide marketing and end-user value added services.

"Wireless access is becoming a more common offering in airports across the country", said Paul Benoit, President and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority. "I am pleased that we will soon be able to offer the service to our customers who are very technology savvy and need to be connected when they travel."

"There is significant pent up demand within the mobile professional community in Canada for WiFi connectivity, not unlike what we have seen in our US airports”, said Joe Beatty, CEO of Concourse Communications. "We’re delighted to have been selected to help make Ottawa International the second major Canadian airport to offer these kinds of services."

"Concourse’s track record of success at world-class airports fits well with BOLDstreet’s Canadian Wi-Fi leadership and focus on user experience." said Tom Camps, President and CEO of BOLDstreet Wireless. "The result is a high-value and uniquely forward-thinking solution for the OMCIAA and all the travelers passing through the Ottawa Airport."
